Joshua tree to pinnacles national park trip

It was winter break, so my dad and I planned to go to Pinnacles national park on dec. 25th. In the morning, we got up early, ate our breakfast and were going to leave, but before we were in the car my dad said balconies cave (Pinnacles) was closed. We decided to go to Joshua tree national park instead. At that moment, I noticed the park was 7 hours away!! The trip was long but fun. We had already booked a hotel at home. When we reached the city of San Bernardino County, the first thing we did was to go into our hotel (super 8). Inside it we thought we would do a 1 mile hike in the park. My dad said it was 40 minutes away. I did not want to sit in that car again so I said No I don’t want to go. The rest of the day I watched something called X games, which is a leader board of who can do the most epic tricks to win a gold medal! I watched that the whole night!

To Joshua National Park

The next day I got up and went to the breakfast room. I ate bread with jam & egg, and corn flakes. After that we went straight to Joshua tree national park. We reached in 45 minutes. We started a hike called arch rock. In that hike, we climbed some rocks and took pictures. The hike was 0.3 miles long.  We reached arch rock in a while. I climbed up the rock and my dad took a picture.

After that we walked back to our car to go to skull rock. At skull rock we took pictures of a rock that looked like a real skull. We also took the skull rock trail which was also pretty fun.

Ryan Mountain

Then finally we went to a hike that was 1.5 miles long, RYAN MOUNTAIN of course. At the start there were a lot of steps. As we started to go higher the more hotter it felt. It took us 1 hour to finally reach the top of Ryan’s mountain! When I saw the sign on top of the mountain I was shocked!!!!! It said the elevation we were on was 5457 feet!! It was pretty scary but I survived as we went back down the Mountain. In another 1 hour we reached the bottom. As we were driving to the hall of horrors I felt very dizzy from the Ryan mountain hike. Like I said I survived. At the hall of horrors we ate bread with cheese spread for lunch. I ate three of them. When we finished our food we went to the hall of horrors hike. We thought the hike will be creepy because its called hall of horrors. But No, we were all wrong it was just a normal 0.1 hike. That hike was the most worst one we have seen, maybe barker dam has something for us. Just then we needed water, so we went to the visitor center and filled up our water.

Barker Dam

After that we were driving to the dam, but on the way we saw a place where we could climb rocks! At first it was pretty hard to get to the top, but I made it. After all the fun we went to Barker dam. At the start of the trail I found out the hike is only 0.5 miles! The hike was easy so we finished it early and saw barker dam which was made fully of stones. Then I wondered how did they make the dam and why were there no ducks in the pond when we were walking. I was talking to my dad on the trail until I bumped in a spiky Joshua tree. My dad took a picture of me hugging the tree. At the end of the loop our final stop was hidden valley.

Hidden Valley

At hidden valley there was not actually a valley it was just a hike like the hall of horrors. I thought that hike was the best hike ever because the hike tried to trick you! The hike was done in a few minutes, so we jumped in my dads car and went back to the hotel super 8. In the hotel I didn’t eat anything, I took a shower and then watched college basketball for the whole day until my dad turned out the lights for bed. Right before bed my dad asked should we go to pinnacles tomorrow. I of course said yes.

Pinnacles

The next morning was Pinnacles day. First thing is breakfast. I ate bread, waffle and corn flakes. Then we zoomed out of the hotel and into the car. The car also zoomed to pinnacles. Inside the visitor center the lady told us that the park was closed apparently, hiking was allowed though. We planned to only do the bear gulch trail. At the Gulch trail we started walking. At first, the trail was pretty cool and relaxing. Until somewhat in the middle a cave appeared. Inside the cave it was super dark and very watery. It felt as though it was raining in the cave. A flashlight could be useful, I told my dad to get the flashlight. As we went through the cave it was dark and creepy. Most amazingly we got to see a under cave waterfall. At the end we saw about 47 steps to get to a reservoir. We sat down at a rock near the reservoir and ate barbecue chips. Yummy. Daddy said we could go back the loop way or back inside the cave? I answered that I wanted to go back in the cave because it was cool. So after I finished the chips we started heading back to the cave. At the end of the cave I thought why did I like the cave the first time I went but not the 2nd time I went. Well, the rest of the was just a normal hike. At the parking lot, we got into my dads car and drove 1 hour 42 minutes to home.

Santa Clara fc lions tryouts

On a nice and warm day me and my dad were going for the Santa Clara lions fc tryouts. It is located right next to the Levi’s football stadium! When we reached I waited for sometime until the coach said I could come on the field. As I stepped on the training ground I felt like I was standing on soccer grass. I jogged over to the back corner of the field and asked coach Steve what I should do. He said go to coach Timo Mclintosh and do rondos with the other players. A rondo is when 4 people are standing at a cone (cone square shape) and one person is in the middle, the person in the middle tries to get the ball while we pass the ball. We did rondos for about 2 minutes, until coach Steve told us to huddle up with a soccer ball. He said we were going to do some dribbling and stretches in this practice. He also said we have to do our best dribble in the open spaces. We first dribbled with our left foot (only). I found open space easily with my left. Then we did some stretch called killies. Which is where you put your left knee forward and your right foot back. Steve then said now I want you to dribble only with your right foot. I was way better with my right, even with finding the open spaces away from each other. We then did another stretch which was called mountain climbers. Which is where you act like a mountain climber, but on the ground. And finally we dribbled with both feet, Yes, I said cause I dribble the ball best with both feet. I wrecked dribbling with both feet, even at finding space. The final stretch was touching your toes without bending your knees and only bending your body. That was pretty hard but I did it. After that we did 2 attackers vs 1 defenders. It basically is we lineup on two different sides, the side which has two cones are the attackers and the side which has 1 cone are the defenders. Whenever you play your next line will be on the right of where you start. If you are an attacker you start with the ball, when you have the ball you have to pass it to the other attackers at least twice, to score a goal. If the ball goes out the next people will come in. The defenders can also steal the ball and score a goal too. We kept doing 2 vs 1 for 30 minutes, until coach Tobias said it was time for scrimmage. I was in the yellow team with my friend Vishva. The other teams were red and yellow. Our first game was against the red team, in that game we won 1-0. I scored! Then we played yellow team and we won. We went back to playing the red team, but we tied 0-0. In our 4th game we won 1-0. In our last match the score was 0-0. Our results were 3 wins 2 ties o losses. After that we got excused to go to our parents and go home. the end

THE TECH MUSEUM of innovation inspiring the innovator in everyone

On November 28 2018 our class, G-3, went on a field trip to the Tech museum of innovation in San Jose. When we reached, Duncan a member of the museum was talking to us about how we should behave in the museum and how to use things. Then Duncan gave us tech tags, He said you might need these for some stuff and try not to lose em. Next Duncan walked us over to a Imax theater. Inside it was huge, the whole screen fit almost the whole theater! When I sat down in one of the 200 chairs it felt so weird because my chair was able to move on its own. Duncan told us that we were going to watch extreme weather. Well, you might think there will be volcanoes, but NO NO NO. Yeah you heard it, NO NO NO. In this movie, we saw forests, tornadoes, tsunamis, hurricanes, glaciers and finally ice. Yup that’s it, but I do not know why there is ice. You have to ask Duncan. Then the people in the movie kept saying  and it was so cool. The movie was about 1 hour long. After that we went to explore the museum in our group. The first exhibit we visited was Body Worlds Decoded. In that place, we got to see real dead human and animal bodies. The inside of the body too, yucky. Some guy. Gave us two tablets and said when you see a icon on the screen click on the icon, so you can learn about lungs for example if there is a . At first we did the icon thingy, until we saw a drawing center. So me and my friend Diego drew a picture of a brain and colored it, to look like a weird kind of brain. Than the other members of the group were shouting at us to go to another exhibit while we we were drawing creepy brains. We were so busy so I ignored them. Until Mrs Oyola came and said she will hold the drawings and give it back until school ends. So then me and Diego went to another exhibit called Hovercraft where we played with a robot dinosaur. After 10 minutes we went to Nev hall and ate our lunch. My lunch was Aloo Paratha. When I finished we went back to Hovercraft and played more with the robot dinosaur. Then we went to hovercraft place and built a hovercraft which we tested on a hot air balloon. We got 135.6 score, which meant we were on the right track. Then we added a bit more and got 44.7 score, which was excellent! We gave the broke our design and gave the materials back and went to the Mars exhibit. I first looked at a earthquake with students in it and learned that the earthquake they were in was an earthquake in India 2001. We played in some tunnel in the exhibit for a while. After the exhibit we lined up and boarded the bus and went back to Central Park Elementary School. The end.  P.S my code do not tell anyone: H70PFRPEAS
